China Blue Star Changsha Design and Research Institute was established in 1978 and is a comprehensive enterprise which conducts scientific research, prospection, design, and supervision, directly subordinated to the original Ministry of Chemical Industry. In 1999, the Institute was reformed and joined the China National Blue Star Chemical Cleaning Corp. Now, the Institute is directly under China National Blue Star (Group) Co., Ltd., and is subordinate to China National Chemical Corporation.
With an area of 11.2 hectares and registered capital of RMB 120 million, the Institute currently has 485 employees, among whom there are 15 experts who enjoy government subsidies, 3 prospection and design masters in China petroleum and chemical industry, 22 professors of senior engineering, 130 senior engineers, and more than 260 registered engineers. The Institute has various qualification certificates such as professional certificates of chemical (chemical project, chemical mining), construction (constructional project) and municipal administration (environmental sanitary project) professional design (Class A), environmental engineering (solid waste disposal project) and engineering investigation, project prospection, supervision and consultation (Class A); chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceuticals (Class B), metallurgy (metallurgical mine), municipal administration (sewerage, town gas project) professional design (Class B), environmental project (water pollution control project and air pollution control project) (Class B), urban-rural planning (Class B) and design qualification certificates for Class A2 pressure vessel and GA, GB and GC type pressure piping.
The Institute’s specialty covers a wide range of areas. With strong technical force, the Institute has a prefect institutional framework, thorough quality assurance system, advanced technical equipment, computer hardware facilities and application software system and has established quick-responding market operation system and service assurance system. The Institute is capable of undertaking various businesses such as the prospection, design, supervision, consultation, and general contract work for large and medium mining projects, chemical projects, petrochemical projects and pharmaceutical projects, industrial and civil architectural projects, municipal and public projects and environmental protection projects. In more than three decades of development, it has completed more than 3000 project prospection, design, supervision, consulting and general contract projects domestically and abroad, more than 100 key national and provincial scientific research tasks, and has won more than 120 state-level and provincial (industrial)-level awards, such as two first prizes for national and international scientific and technical progress, two gold prizes for national excellent project design, and two first prizes for national excellent project consultation. Its users are all over China, Turkey, Bolivia, Canada, Australia, the Republic of Congo and Laos, etc.
After many years of accumulation, especially the development achieved in recent years, we have taken the lead in the field of potassium resource exploitation and comprehensive utilization throughout the country, and even has reached world-class levels in some fields; in the fields of phosphate rock resource and iron pyrite exploitation, tailings pond comprehensive treatment and industrial wastewater advanced treatment, the Institute has taken the lead in China, and has established our own technical brand in the fields of civil architecture design and project supervision, etc. In recent years, the Institute has made some new development in the fields of chemical design during the business and regional operation.
